A whirlwind elopement along Lake Superior of a couple who've been together for 10 years.

They contacted us on Monday to photograph their wedding that Friday & we just so happened to be open, so we drove 12 hours round trip to photograph these two for a rad 3 hours in Northern Minnesota!

Their ceremony happened on the edge of Lake Mist that surrounded them while they said their vows. Once they were announced MARRIED, the gods blessed them with a downpour!

The fog was mixed with smoke from the Boundary Waters Fires - which was kismet, as Donovan was a firefighter. The whole day was full of signs from the universe, where we just knew it was meant to be!

North Shore of Minnesota is one of my favorite places in the Midwest & it was an honor to help design this day for them! #niphotoweddings

July recap: WOW.

This last month was a wild ride — my heart is overflowing with gratitude while my body is running on fumes.

While putting 4,500 miles on my Xterra, I photographed:

📍 4 extended family sessions in Madison, Coloma & Wisconsin Dells
📍 2 rad family sessions — one an amazing 1st-ever camping trip!
📍 2 engagements at Devil's Lake & Door County
📍 3 proposals at Devil's Lake, Grampa's Pizza & Olbrich Gardens
📍 1 elopement in Tofte, MN & Temperance State Park — Justin officiated!
📍 1 session for Madison Magazine (out in September!)
📍 1 branding session in Land O' Lakes, WI
📍 2 anniversary sessions at Copper Falls & Indian Lake
📍 and an AMAZING associate wedding in Wild Rose, where they ran in the rain!!

This might read as braggy, but I'm so thankful for the humans who invited me into their lives — some I've known for years, some I just met.

All after a few years of burnout & people who treated me like garbage. This month renewed my love for this work.

Grampas Pizzeria has an amazing garden area with a greenhouse that was simply a DREAM for a proposal!

The amazing staff at Grampas helped make it even better with flowers on the table & a bottle of bubbly to celebrate! They then sat down for pizza to celebrate!
