James had his game face on, and alongside his wingpeople, Justin & I, they had it all planned out down to the T. (We even had maps with dots to where we will be standing!)

In a whirl of confusion, Katie softly mumbled, “I thought we were just going Gala, you know?” Amidst a sea of unknown but super smiley faces, maybe she was starting to suspect something was up. Well, you know what they say about best-laid plans!

Knee Drops, Hearts Stop

What’s a guy to do when he’s got a ring burning a hole in his pocket and a heart full of love? Leap, of course – or in this case, take the knee! With every ounce of his soul shaking with nervous excitement, James uttered the big question, “Will you marry me?”

Katie, the star of the night, was so flabbergasted she practically went all statue on us for a second. “I don’t remember anything, did I say Yes?” she giggled later, her cheeks a rosy shade of ‘just said yes.’ But hey, she did say yes (confirmed by reliable eavesdroppers,us, at the scene).

A Toast to the Newly Engaged!

What followed was nothing short of a spectacle – tears that shone like diamonds (some from James, but no judgment here; it’s all manly and stuff), laughs that echoed off the bridge’s steel bones, and hugs that could warm up the chilliest of December nights.
