Pfister Wedding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with Bucky the Badger

A Pfister Wedding on New Year’s Eve that was not short on fun! This day was a freaking blast! While everyone was getting ready, you could just tell that they were soaking it all in. No rushing or worrying, which is exactly what your day should be like! Let the professionals worry about the rest!

We had a crazy rad weather day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! Even though we wished for snow, at least it was warm enough outside not to freeze our butts off! Before we headed outside, Katlyn and Trent had a private first look near the lobby of Pfister Hotel. Then they joined their families for some private vows. This is also where Katlyn’s best friend surprised her! She was supposed to be in the wedding party, but surprised the world by having a little baby just four weeks before! (she is an actual superhuman, that is for sure!)

Katlyn, what do you love most about Trent?

What I love most about Trent is that he’s everything I’m not. He keeps me balanced in a way I never knew I needed

Trent, what do you love most about Katlyn?

What I love most about Katlyn is her passion for everything she does and how much she cares about everyone that’s in our lives!

What memory stands out most from your wedding day?

Just how many AMAZING friends and family we have in our lives. Seeing them together in one room celebrating was overwhelming!

In your own words describe your day from the night before your wedding to waking up on your first day as mr and mrs!

A. F*#(@KING BLUR. We knew we were going into a hell of a party weekend. We had no idea how much party would go on and how fast it would happen. It was truly a whirlwind from Friday night’s welcome reception that ended with a 1 am after-party to waking up Sunday morning for brunch after going to bed at 5 am.

There were lost coats, missing shoes, a broken toe, and A LOT of belly laughs in between. Based on our friend’s hangovers, we’d say ‘mission accomplished’ for throwing our epic NYE party. But the most important part was getting a moment with just Trent and I to soak it all in and see each other for the first time before saying ‘I Do’ – that was even better than the party

What was the greatest challenge in planning your wedding? What did you feel least prepared for?

h Everything? There are SO many little details that it’s impossible to keep up with especially on our wedding day (did the cupcakes go out? did people do our guestbook? We have no idea!)

What personal touches did you add to make your wedding your own?

Katlyn (a devoted Illini) got Bucky Badger to make a guest appearance for Trent. We had the wedding photos of our grandparents and parents on our welcome table which was very special. Trent had a custom jacket and wore his dad’s cufflinks. Katlyn had her grandma’s wedding ring and dress wrapped around her bouquet. All personal things to remember those who couldn’t be with us.

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding day?

HIRE. A. PLANNER. Specifically, hire Tionna Van Gundy from WediCity. LIFE SAVER!!

How do you feel about your decision to go with Natural Intuition Photography? The best part of working with us?

There are no words. You made our day seamless and stress-free. We were never uncomfortable posing or anything and I never had to doubt if one shot was a good picture or not, because I knew they all were good! There was an unspoken trust that I think is very hard to find!
