What a year! 2025 was a whirlwind of laughter, silly faces, and incredible moments. We had the absolute pleasure of photographing 55 amazing families, creating memories that will last a lifetime. From the bustling streets of Milwaukee to the beautiful neighborhoods of Madison, we captured authentic stories all across Wisconsin. This year was all about making family photos less of a task and more of a celebration—a true recap of what it means to come together with loved ones.

More Than Just Photos: Community and Fun

One of the highlights of our year was connecting with the community through two charity events for Verona Schools. We offered quick 10-minute sessions and met so many fantastic families. These short but sweet meetings were packed with energy. We laughed, made plenty of poop jokes (a guaranteed hit with the little ones), and captured genuine smiles that perfectly sum up our family recap for 2025. The best part was seeing how excited families were to download and share their new photos almost immediately.

These events reminded us what photography is all about: connection, joy, and giving back. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of it, and we look forward to every future family recap that brings our community together.

Celebrating Wisconsin’s Seasons with Mini Sessions

Wisconsin’s distinct seasons are one of its coolest features, and we took full advantage of them with our spring and fall mini sessions. There’s no better time to update your family photos than when nature puts on its best display, creating a yearly recap for your family album.

In the spring, families enjoyed sessions surrounded by fresh blooms and vibrant green landscapes. It was the perfect backdrop for capturing the feeling of new beginnings and cheerful energy, a true recap of the season’s joy with family.

Then came fall, and with it, a breathtaking explosion of color. The warm reds, oranges, and yellows created a cozy and magical setting for our sessions. These backdrops are uniquely Wisconsin and provide a stunning canvas for family portraits that will be perfect in any annual family recap. Whether basking in the spring sun or playing in the autumn leaves, these minis were a hit.

Making Photo Sessions a Freaking Blast

My mission this year was to transform the family photo experience. It shouldn’t feel like a chore you have to drag everyone to. It should be an adventure, an excuse to play, and a genuinely fun time for everyone involved—a highlight in every family recap.

We introduced new and exciting activities to ensure every session was a freaking blast. The goal was to get kids smiling because they were having the time of their lives, not because someone yelled, “Say cheese!” We wanted authentic giggles and joyful expressions, all part of our family recap for this year.

The results were better than I could have imagined. Kids were so engaged and happy that they were actually sad when the sessions ended. The only thing that could cheer them up? The promise of ice cream on the way home was a well-deserved treat after all that fun, truly capturing what makes a family recap special.
