Sunrise Engagement Session in Madison, Wisconsin

This Madison Sunrise Engagement Session was 100% worth waking up at 4 am! There are major benefits to sunrise engagement sessions! Very few people are the #1 reason to do it! The only people around us were fishermen and one skier that was annoying the fisherman!

Ginny and Ben were ready for rad photos as soon as they arrived! Looking stunning and a bit overdressed for the boat ramp! But on style for their engagement photos! The sunrise at Olin Park is one of my favorites! It came up over Lake Monona with beautiful cotton candy skies that made my heart sing!

As we headed out of the park, I saw some lingering fog over the open area. So I stopped them before leaving, and we walked over to the beautiful mist! Another rad reason to do sunrise engagement sessions!

Now, let’s get to know these rad humans!

When did you know you had fallen in love with your partner?

Probably during one of many Sunday soup nights where our friend group would make soup and watch TV (often Westworld) on Sunday nights while eating way too much Batch bread. We were probably making creamy chicken and wild rice soup (a favorite soup of both Ben and Ginny).

What is your proposal story?

We went out to dinner at L’Etoile, ostensibly to celebrate Ginny’s thirtieth birthday (which had been several months prior, but she had wanted to go to an exorbitantly expensive dinner for it). After dinner, we walked home; Ben sneakily put Pepper, our dog, in a little tuxedo costume, and he came downstairs and proposed.

What would your perfect Sunday look like?

Wake up and walk Pepper to Batch + Cafe Domestique for breakfast. Ben does pottery while Ginny does knitting and watches reality TV. Then we go out on Lake Monona during the afternoon and grill out in the evening. Also, we have Monday off.
