Danielle and John’s elopement took place on a warm, golden afternoon early in summer. Perfect weather for celebrating love in the great outdoors. But what caught everyone by surprise? A breathtaking lupine field in full bloom! It was a magical discovery that still has us head over heels. See their pre-wedding 1st look here!

Their day began with heartfelt hellos as we met up with their family before making our way toward the ceremony site. The trail to the location was short but scenic, leading to a tucked-away spot off the main path. Where Danielle and John could enjoy the privacy they wanted for their vows.

Personal Elopement Ceremony

Justin and I crafted a ceremony tailored just for them, with personal touches that truly spoke to their relationship. While officiating, we made sure the couple could lock eyes with their family. It is a setup we love because it connects the moment, allowing them to feel surrounded by the love and support of those closest to them.

Danielle and John’s ceremony was as unique as their story. Did you know they first connected over music and math? Danielle remembers first noticing John’s Muse shirt in their physics clubroom and asking about the song he was listening to. It was “Pink Moon” by Nick Drake, a tune she hadn’t heard before. Over time, those shared conversations turned into study sessions, then split headphones, and eventually, a love that grows stronger with every season.

After the ceremony, we followed the trail to a cozy little waterfall. The cool breeze was such a refreshing treat. Despite injuring her foot just before the ceremony, Danielle was amazing, navigating the funky, rocky stairs like a true adventurer—boot and all!

Before leaving the lush beauty of Governor Dodge State Park, we couldn’t resist heading back to that lupine field for a few more dreamy photos. John and Danielle’s joy and love radiated through every moment of the day, making those shots all the more magical.

This day was a perfect example of how an elopement can be personal and unique, celebrating the couple and the beautiful little surprises along the way.
