SHOOT AND SHARE CONTEST FINALIST — WHOA- HAPPY DANCE ALERT!
Oh my gosh you guys, I have been freaking out since I submitted 50 of my favorite images to the amazing contest Shoot and Share puts on every year. I submitted at the very last minute due to being out of town, but I am so humbled and overjoyed with the results. You guys I got a photo is the TOP 100 out of 200,000+ photos! WHAT? I am freaking out! When I got the email that I was a finalist I did a little, OK a really big happy dance after I ran into the room to tell Justin. I eagle eyed the results everyday when they were announced – the talent that is on that list is INSANE! I was in awe while I was voting too!
31st place out of 6,074 images! The photo that got that far was a photo I took last fall at Brighton Acres beautiful barn! I adore this barn, and I cannot wait to go back this year for another beautiful wedding!
Three of my photos were finalists, one is one of my favorite photos from Brianna and Kyle’s fall engagement session. The second one is from a styled anniversary shoot from last fall, in the most dream of light. And the third one is my all time favorite family photo – I might be biased since it’s my sisters family. The crazy thing about these photos is that they were all from last fall – a time when I started to experiment a lot more with my sessions to ensure I was giving my clients unique experiences.
Seven photos in the TOP 10%. Nine in the top 20% – and ten in the top 30%! (places are shown below each photo) WHOA – I am thrown away with the results. Did I place in the top 20? No, but I would have been happy if just one photo made it to any %! There were 200,000+ photos and they were randomly generated and voted by people all over the world! I spent hours voting for beautiful photos, freaking out when one of mine came up! It still blows me away as I am typing this, I am so honored and feeling such a rush of joy.
My heart is still bursting with excitement over this – there was so much amazing talent in the contest I am honored to be part of it with them. It was fun cheering on photographers that I have loved for years when I saw their photos place, and finding new favorites along the way. Cheers and High Fives to all the awesome people who voted and wishing you were all in my living room right now to have a dance part to celebrate with me!
