A Western Engagement Session that Started It All!

We first met Hannah and Joe in person during their engagement session north of Green Bay, Wisconsin. The vibe? Effortlessly cool with a strong Western-inspired theme that reflected their love for wide-open spaces, their horses, and each other. From the jump, it was clear these two had a connection that could light up a room—or, in their case, a rustic barn.

Fast-forward to the big day at Rhoyal Rock Stables, which had already won its spot as one of our favorite venues in northern Wisconsin. A restored horse barn set against a lush, serene landscape. The place combined country charm with elegant touches that screamed “romantic getaway” while whispering “laid-back good vibes.”

Little did anyone know that Mother Nature had plans to steal the show.

A Stormy Wedding Day No Problem!

Epic skies? Check. On-and-off storms? Double-check. While most folks might panic at the thought of rain on their wedding day, Hannah and Joe took it all in stride. And honestly, thank goodness they did because the storms only added to the magic.

The ceremony was initially planned to be outside, but when the weather had other ideas, it was moved into the horse stall area. And wow, talk about turning lemons into lemonade. The space, lit by candles and brimming with intimate energy, turned out to be even more magical than we could have imagined. The soft glow reflected off the weathered wood, and the close-knit setting made the vows even more emotional and unforgettable.

Later, when the rain slowed, and the skies began to clear, we stepped outside to see breathtaking cloud formations that made the perfect backdrop for photos. The skies were performing just for Hannah and Joe’s wedding day!

A Very Special Ring Bearer & Special Guests

We have to talk about the ***ring bearer. Who was it, you ask? Their adorable dog stole hearts left and right. You couldn’t help but smile watching him trot down the candlelit aisle, earning every belly rub he dared to ask for. He added the perfect touch of cuteness (and a little comedic relief) to an already emotional ceremony.

Then came the part that stole MY heart—the couple’s grand visit from their horses! Between the stunning barn-turned-venue and this visit, their love for animals was woven into every piece of their day. One of the standout moments was snapping photos of Hannah and Joe by their horses, with Hannah’s dress gliding along the grass and Joe grinning from ear to ear.
