Natalie and Brett had an elegant lakeside wedding at the East Side Club in Madison Wisconsin. The rain didn’t dampen their wedding day at all! As sprinkles fell upon us all, there was nothing but smile as the wedding party and the couple walked down the aisle.
The pink bridesmaid dresses complimented Natalies blush gown, with beautiful fall floral accents. The Grooms wore suits that complimented Brett’s modern tux. Instead of a cake, they opted for delicious donuts from Greenbush Bakery. Instead of a buffet or a sit-down dinner they had two of their favorite food trucks come. I have always wanted to try Umami, and they did not disappoint! I cannot wait to run to their food truck the next time I see it! The best food truck in Madison with my favorite tacos was also there! El Grito Taqueria, with their signature tacos!
The night ended we the amazing live band Don’t Mess with Cupid! The dance floor was never empty! Live bands are the freaking best!
The story of how Brett Proposed:
Brett popped the question on Feb 17, 2018. I remember because it was 4 days after Valentine’s day and I think he subconsciously KNEW I would never let him live down the cheeseball move of proposing on Feb14. High stakes when you’re asking to spend forever with someone. :
Anyways, we were on a whirlwind European vacation visiting Switzerland, Austria & Germany. He proposed on the steps of the Mirabell Gardens in Salzburg, Austria (The Sound of Music, anyone?)!! It was cold. We both cried. A big, international tour group cheered. It was perfect.
Natalie, what do you love most about Brett?
I love that Brett is unapologetically himself. Always. He fights fiercely for what he believes in. He will always have my back, will always support my dreams and will fight fiercely to make the best life for our family. It’s pretty special to have a partner like that in life.
Brett, what do you love most about Natalie?
I love Nat’s toughness and the tenacity with which she lives her life. Its what first attracted me to her. I’ve never seen her give up when faced with an obstacle; be it personal, or professional. She wants something, she goes to get it. I love that about her.
What would your perfect Sunday look like?
Homemade breakfast, a hot pot of coffee and watching the morning news. All snuggled with our puppy princess, Nora.
What memory stands out most to you from your wedding day?
We were both just so taken aback by how powerful it is having people you love SHOW UP. People flew and drove from all over the country to support us and surround us with love. It was moving, and so wonderful to look around and see all of your favorite faces smiling back at you. <3 People are amazing.
What was the best part about planning your wedding day?
Ugh, the planning got annoying at times but the best part was being able to make the day so uniquely us. We didn’t want to make a seating chart, so we didn’t. We love live music, so we got the best band in Madison. Love love love the lakes, so that was our backdrop. Nat’s little brother made our wedding arch. Our best friend officiated. We could go on and on…. We’re so proud of the party we put together for all of our favorites.
What special touches did you add to your wedding day?
The speeches! We asked some of our dearest friends and family to share words with us on our special day & they all knocked it out of the park. Highly recommend everyone spend time on speeches.

What are you looking forward to most in your future together?
We can’t wait to see what life throws at us. We’re a fantastic team and we’re already proud of our future-selves. We plan to take everything in stride & always laugh along the way.
What advice do you have for future couples planning their wedding day?
Focus on YOU. Guests love authenticity. Be honest to yourselves about what will make your day great. Have a few non-negotiable elements (food, music, venue) and love those pieces. The rest really doesn’t matter.
How do you feel about your experience with Natural Intuition Photography?
We are SO THRILLED we chose Natural Intuition Photography. Christine and Justin have a fun, laid back approach to photography. We were so comfortable and living in the moment that we forgot we were having our photos taken. All their photos capture the spirit of the day and are just so freaking beautiful. Couldn’t give a better recommendation & cant wait to use their badass skills again in the future!
