Milwaukee Engagement Session at the Domes
Engaged couples, local Milwaukee residents, and plant lovers gather around! We have a beautiful story of love to share with you, set against the lush backdrop of the Milwaukee Domes. Sameer and Megan’s engagement session was magical, and we can’t wait to tell you all about it.
But, first, I want this rad couple to tell you about themselves! I adore their love so much!
How They Met
Sameer:
“I met Megan during a study group session late one night for an analog signal processing class. I knew one of the people in the group and they invited me to join them while they got dinner and we took a break from studying. During dinner, we went around the group and each person said ‘something interesting’ about themselves.
I talked about how I trained service dogs, and Megan, reluctant to share, said there was nothing interesting about her. Her friend, Katie, said, ‘what are you talking about, you make amazing cakes!’ She ‘encouraged’ (read: forced) Megan to show photos of her cakes, and I saw probably the most intricate, creative, awesome cakes I’ve ever seen before. I didn’t know that anyone could make cakes like that! I thought it was funny that Megan tried to sweep that type of skill under the rug, but it turns out she was just shy in front of the group.”
Megan:
“The year was 2019. It was almost summer of my junior year at UIUC. A friend was encouraging me to meet his friend who was headed to the same out-of-state internship that summer. That day he found Sameer and I in different parts of the same building and pulled us together – that is when I met Sameer. Sameer introduced himself and recollected that we had met before during a study group, citing my cake-decorating hobby.
I couldn’t believe him, I didn’t remember meeting and thought someone else must have told him about the cakes. Because no one in our major knew that about me aside from 2 close friends. I thought Sameer was cute and mysterious, I didn’t know how he knew things about me already or why he remembered, but he intrigued me. Since that day I don’t think I have been able to stop talking about him, or to him. And it turns out, my college roommate had a photo of us all together out during that study group night, something I now treasure :)”
Falling in Love Every Day
Megan: “I think I fall in love with Sameer over and over, every single day. Every day that I see him I think of how lucky I am to have fallen in love with my best friend. And get to go through life with him. I love how he smiles and laughs, and he’s so funny and cute! Most importantly, I really enjoy talking with him. He has a way of challenging me. To think from a different perspective, yet at the same time, I think he just gets me. He truly supports me and my ideas. I couldn’t imagine my future any other way than with him!”
Sameer: “My favorite thing about Megan is the enthusiasm she brings to everything we do. It makes me feel so appreciated, and I love to know how happy she is to do anything with me. From everyday things like walking Wrigley to special adventures like flocking to an island and seeing Orca Whales. Her radiant enthusiasm and excitement make every day a true adventure with my best friend.”
A Perfect Story for a Perfect Relationship
We both share a love for wild animals. It’s why we make a point to visit new zoos whenever and wherever we can. Despite enjoying zoos so much, it’s always a special treat to truly see wild animals in the wild. When we lived in Seattle for some time, we went on a couples’ kayaking trip in the Puget Sound, during the sunset on a beautiful summer day. We talked to the kayak tour guides who mentioned that sometimes we see seals during our trip. Once they mentioned that, we were on the hunt for any seals we could potentially see.
Towards the end of the trip, one of the tour guides pointed out a young-looking seal. They told us we could pull back and try to find him again. Once we got to the area where he was seen, suddenly, we heard a big thud, and he jumped right upon our kayak! He stayed for a few seconds and went back into the water. But it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be so close to an adorable baby seal! It was also an embodiment of our relationship- going on an excursion together and encountering wild animals along the way.
Capturing Moments at the Milwaukee Domes
Their engagement session was set in the plant-filled paradise of the Milwaukee Domes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Despite the busy day, we found rad spots where Sameer and Megan could get lost in each other! Totally forgetting about the dozens of people around them. The lush greenery and vibrant blooms provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.
