Megan and Alex are two amazing fun loving people who surrounded themselves with the people they love most on their wedding day in Door County. Their wedding party was filled with family and friends that were a freaking blast! By no means out of hands but up for a good time and good laugh! Their wedding was set at an amazing art gallery in Door County, where they said their I DO’s in a field surrounded by prairie grass.
Come on! This is my 3rd couple that have brewed their own beer and brought their personal touch like this to their wedding! FREAKING AWESOME! These labels were a huge hit, plus for those who don’t drink or under 21 they had rootbeer! We didn’t get a chance to try the beer, but was told that it was like Blue Moon – the beer too was a huge hit!
After the ceremony, we snuck away to get some photos and pop some champagne where I laid down in bird poop to get some epic shots of the couple and the wedding party! Anything for the shot! (the clothes I laid down in were washed after this for sure, no worries!)
At their reception, we got to hear their loved ones talk about amazing memories they’ve had with the couple, enjoyed their signature drink, the Old Fashioned, and danced the night away to a live band! It was a day to remember for sure!
We met at the bar The Romain Coin, in Milwaukee. We also went back and had our first date and played Trivia (and lost), but it was really fun and a great way to get to know each other!
Alex got the news that the was getting deployed in the spring, so we decided to spend a few weeks doing all of his favorite things in Milwaukee. One night, he asked if we could go back to the Roman Coin and play trivia. Once we got there he mentioned that he wanted to grab dinner at a local place, along the way Alex stopped me at a heart drawn on the ground. It was the exact spot that we first saw each other outside of the bar! He got down on one knee and popped the question and I of course said yes!
I like that he’s so kind and smart and overall just a super great person.
I like how kind and caring she is to everyone. And I love her laugh and sense of humor.
Making a big brunch at home, taking our dog Rufus for a walk at one of the local parks like Kettle Moraine, and then check out some local breweries together.
I think the best part was having all of our friends and family together in one place and being able to share the start of our next adventure together!
Being able to brew our beer together and just working together on a project- it made us realize that we both have separate strengths and we make a pretty kick butt team combined!
I still can’t get over how amazing the whole weekend was! The night before we joined our friends and family for a good ole fashion Door County fish boil at The Log Den. After dinner and a speech from Alex’s dad, we parted ways until the next day. Alex spend the night at his cottage with his groomsmen. While I spent some time with my family and college friends. The next morning we both spent getting ready and looking our best for the big day. Alex and I did a first look at the bay and I total lost it, he looked so handsome in his military dress blues! We were able to go around and take some pictures at some of our favorite spots including Cave Point and Simon Creek Winery and then it was off to the ceremony.
We felt so blessed to be surrounded by all of our friends and family and have my Uncle Brian marry us. The dinner, speeches, and dancing the rest of the night flew by but it was so great to be surrounded by such love. I remember looking over at Alex during dinner and thinking how lucky we were! That was hands down the best day of my life and I’m looking forward to a lifetime more with Alex by my side.
I think there’s just so much detail that you really don’t think about and seating charts are a hot mess. I feel like we prepared for almost everything but having a day of coordinator was super helpful. She totally headed off a lot of issues that we didn’t even know about.
I think having the beer we brewed with programs on it was the biggest personal touch, a lot of people got a kick out of that. We also had a display of our parents, grandparents, and some of our great-grandparents on their wedding day. It was so great to be able to share the love of our families that made us who we are today.
YES:
I take you as you are loving who you are now and who you are yet to become. I promise from this day forward. To be grateful for our love and our life. Be generous with my time, my energy and my affection. To be patient with you and with myself. Fill our life with adventure and our home with laughter. To encourage you to grow as an individual, and inspire you to do so. To love you completely. These things I pledge before you, our friends and our family
All the adventures we will share together from traveling, to babies, to retirement and everything in between!
Everyone told us that it goes so fast, but it really does! Make sure you sit back and enjoy everything the day has to offer.
We couldn’t be happier! You guys were so great to work with. I loved that you were so laid back and flexible with everything we were thinking about doing. I can’t wait to see how the final pictures turned out!
