We woke up the day of their wedding with a beautiful sky. Our drive to Milwaukee from Madison the day was beautiful. It wasn’t until the ladies were almost ready that the sky got darker. Our walk to the car, the rain got harder and harder. We arrived at Schlitz and it POURED on our way in. Thankfully our camera bag has a rain cover and we had an umbrella in the car! Justin was soaked from the waist down, but dry waste up as he remembered his rain jacket. We followed an usher into the building, we were just all soaked. But thankful for hairdryers!
The first storm rolled through and carried the humid weather with it. As we waited for the second, we got a first look in and some wedding party photos. All just before the second storm rolled through. We may have had to run in again to get away from the downpour. But we made it!
The second storm took ALL the humid sticky weather with it! YAY! But, it had us move the ceremony to the deck arear of the building. To stay dry and away from the millions of mosquitos that came out.
Let’s get to know the couple better shall we?
How did Adam propose?
Adam proposed on the coast of the river we kayaked through in the boundary waters. Maralyn couldn’t tell if he was being serious because, he often “fake proposed” so Adam had to ask twice!
Maralyn, what do you love most about Adam?
His ability to ALWAYS make me laugh.
Adam, what do you love most about Maralyn?
Her eyes, smile and her sense of adventure.
What would your perfect Sunday look like?
Staying in bed as long as we can, drinking as much coffee as humanly possible and then hiking or kayaking with our puppies!
What memory stands out most from your wedding day?
The adventure of planning the wedding day together- from our kayak trip where Adam proposed to our first look when he presented me with a chip bag!!
What was the best part of planning your wedding day?
Going to taste the food at the caterer because Zilli hospitality group is amazing at everything they do and basically wined and dined us for the year leading up to the wedding!
In your own words, tell us about your day!
We spent the night before eating great food and drinking great beer with our closest family and friends. Neither of us had bad nerves before the wedding, even with the dark clouds rumbling in! Everything was light-hearted and couldn’t have gone any better!
What was your greatest challenge about planning your wedding day!? What could you have done without!?
Getting the men’s wardrobes figured out was the greatest challenge. The company we went with weren’t very accommodating and even ordered a few of the suits wrong multiple times. We were least prepared to have downtime before the ceremony- We were expecting it to go fast and not have any time to breathe when actually, we had time to sit and have a few moments with our parents and wedding party. We could have done without the rain and heat, but thankfully the rain brought cooler weather and it was still the most beautiful day ever!!
What personal touches did you add to your day?
Our ceremony programs had cut out pictures of our wedding party in them, we had big heads made of Adam and Maralyn, Adam had socks with pictures of our dogs (Copper & Dash), Maralyn wore the pearls that were gifted to her by family when she was a young girl, Adam’s dad was our officiant and we had a fun hashtag and Snapchat filter!
How did you feel about your experience with Natural Intuition Photography?
We have all the feels! Christine and Justin were so easy to work with and made us feel comfortable! We never felt stiff or awkward taking any of the pictures. I felt like they were getting all the shots I wanted without having to ask for anything!! They both fit into our family and friends personalities seamlessly.
