Fun Wedding at Sentry World in Stevens Point Wisconsin

Kevin and Mandy are really good friends of ours, photographing their wedding was a true honor. It was awesome to see two friends get married is always extra special for us. Kevin and Mandy started dating shortly after Justin and I, so it’s pretty rad when our stories are so entwined!

There wedding day was the first HOT HOT HOT wedding we’ve photographed of the year, and we were so not prepared for it. We were prepared in the sense we dressed right and had plenty of water, but man our bodies weren’t ready. But, thankfully Sentry World is amazing at making sure everyone was comfortable!

Let’s hear from the couple!

How did Kevin propose?

After a nice dinner while we were on vacation at Universal Studios Florida. Mandy is a Harry Potter nerd, so the original plan was for Kevin to propose over at Harry Potter World in the theme park, but Hurricane Irma was moving in & flights were being canceled – quickly.

Shortly before this dinner, we had been trying to decide what to do to get home & had decided to rent a car & drive from FL to Madison. Kevin made a snap decision to change his plans. We were staying at the Italian-themed resort, so as we were walking back to our room after dinner Kevin decided to stop in the courtyard to ask – and, of course, Mandy said yes. (Kevin was expecting to have to wait a few days for an answer since he made Mandy wait for so long)

Mandy, what do you love most about Kevin?

His heart. He is the most supportive person I have ever met in my life. He doesn’t always express his emotions in the most obvious or normal ways, but his love & heart drive everything. Kevin has gotten me through the worst & best times in my life. He has helped me to become the best version of myself – better than I could’ve ever imagined – just through his love & support.

Kevin, what do you love most about Mandy?

The way her personality fits together with mine.

What was the best part of planning your wedding day?

Getting to do it together & finally seeing all of your dreams & hard work come to fruition!

In your own words, how would you describe your wedding day?

Mandy: Before was calm & surreal. I kept saying it was happening, but couldn’t begin to fathom when it would start to feel real. Waking up the morning after was perfection. Everything felt familiar but fresh.

Kevin: The same. (this answer doesn’t surprise Mandy)

What personal touches did you bring to your wedding day?

We are beer nerds, homebrewers, & love bourbon. We brewed 5 beers to give as our wedding favors, designed all of our decorations around beer, & even made our own whiskey for a whiskey unity ceremony.

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding day?

Don’t procrastinate & don’t bicker over the little stuff. If you don’t have a wedding coordinator at your venue – hire one!! Our coordinator made life so much easier & thought of things we wouldn’t have!

How do you feel about going with Natural Intuition Photography?

We are so happy! We looked at other options, but knowing the quality of our photos was important to us made the choice simple! Things were simple, stress-free, & fun. Photos were taken quickly & we were able to enjoy a lot of time with our family & friends during cocktail hour. Kind of helps that they’re our friends, too!
