Milwaukee Wisconsin Summer Engagement Session with Jordan & Travis
We met Jordan and Travis at a park in Milwaukee Wisconsin. The park we first choose was way too busy, so we found a random park across the street. We were racing a storm that was coming through – but it was worth it! The storm stayed away, and we had some of the most amazing light!
Let’s get to know them!
How did you two meet?
We met our freshmen year of college (2008) at UWW. We remained very good friends for most of our college years and started dating our senior year.
How did Travis propose?
Travis asked me to marry him on our 6th anniversary. We had Friday night dinner reservations at Harbor House. It wasn’t going to be a late night for us because we had plans to go to Illinois the next day for my family reunion. My entire family was already in Illinois but we were planning to go up Sat morning. I did not expect a proposal AT ALL. We had just bought a house together, we hadn’t even looked at rings yet!
After dinner we took a walk along the lakefront before heading home and he popped the question. We decided we HAD to celebrate with a few drinks so we went to Camp Bar and my mom, dad, brothers, and his mom and sister were there to surprise me and help us celebrate! It was a perfect night. I would say some of our most favorite memories together are from college – we just had a blast.
We often talk about college and all of the silly and awesome things we did together and with our friends. I would say our favorite trip together is when we went to Mexico with my family. We had so much fun!
When did you know you were in love?
We would both agree it was after we got out of college and life started to slow down a little bit. We were long distance for 2 years and saw each other on the weekends – during this time we developed a really strong connection and a deep appreciation for one another.
What do you like to do as a couple?
Although we haven’t gotten to do this as much as we’d like we love to travel. There are a lot of places on our bucket list that we need to check off! We love to try new restaurants. We love to go to local breweries. We both love sports, so the big sporting events are always a must in our house. And we work out together, which is something we like because it gets us out of the house and keeps us healthy.
Our favorite place to go is probably my parents lake house. There is something about a summer night on the lake drinking an old fashion. We also love to go downtown Milwaukee… whether it’s for food or hanging with friends or just walking around.
We are excited to photograph their wedding in 2019! It was so much fun to spend some time with you for your Milwaukee Wisconsin Summer Engagement! You were so awesome to go with the flow of the last minute change!
