Having shot weddings for 11 years, we’ve helped a couple of hundred couples plan a stress-free wedding day that they go to enjoy thoroughly! When couples hire us for their wedding day photography, we want them to enjoy the day as much as possible. We don’t want them to think they have to be fully on all day like a photo shoot. The day is NOT about us, and it is about the couples.
These tips or suggestions will help your day be stress-free. REMEMBER! These are just suggestions, and your day is YOURS! Be you and do it your way!
THINK OUTSIDE THE WEDDING BOX
- Don’t want any of the traditions you read in the wedding magazines you DO NOT have to do them! Make your own traditions!
- Write your own vows!
- Have your ceremony in your backyard!
- Book a unique Airbnb!
- Get married somwhere epic like a mountain top, a field or someone new!

KEEP THE GUESTLIST INTIMATE
Keep the list small by inviting only those you cannot wait to dance on the dance floor with! Or who you cannot wait to chat around the dinner table with and laugh the night away! All while making new memories together! Don’t invite someone out of guilt, because you want the gift, or because you think you have to!

SKIP THE WEDDING PARTY or KEEP IT SMALL
Don’t know who to include in your wedding party? Or you can’t narrow it down, and a large wedding party stresses you out! Don’t have one, or keep it to two or three!
If you decide not to have a wedding party, you can still have a small group of people helping you get ready!
We’ve had couples decide not to have a wedding party, and they were thankful they didn’t have anyone else to worry about!
TIMELINE & DELIGATE
When it comes to a timeline, allow for enough time to enjoy the day. Allow for enough buffers to ensure that when things run late, you are still on time!
Hire vendors that you trust are SUPER important! Quality vendors will work together to ensure your day goes smoothly! Vendors who each other and planning timelines that fit each unique specialty and eliminate stress for the couple!
Share the timeline with everyone important! Vendors, wedding party and families! To ensure everyone knows where to be and when! Have a family that famously arrives late? Tell them to be there 15-20 minutes early.

SNEAK AWAY FOR SUNSET!
This is the best advice I have for any couple getting married! No matter how big or small your day is! The day goes by WAY too fast! If you don’t take some time to soak it all, it will fly by, and you won’t realize it until it’s too late.
Sneak away for photos with your photographer! Then when that’s done, take a walk together! Take a few moments just the two of you and soak in the day. Relish in the memory of the day! Please take a deep breath and take it all in as much as possible!
You WILL NOT regret this!
PLAN A WEDDING THAT IS FILLED WITH YOU!
This is the most important thing! This wedding is YOURS! JUST THE TWO OF YOU! It is not your Mom’s, your friends, your cousins, NO ONES! It’s YOURS! Only include the things that feel like you!
