5. Do you have insurance? And backup gear?

Any professional photographer or wedding vendor should have insurance and be able to show proof of this anytime! There are more and more venues requiring it. Do not hire a photographer or vendor who cannot provide proof of insurance!

Your photographer should also have at least 1 backup camera and plenty of backup memory cards! On the day of! When they get your images home they should at least have 2-3 ways of backing up your images. Be sure to ask how exactly they backup your images, and their plan if anything happens.
