Meet this rad family. Their story began in 2019 in the most unexpected place: a judge’s chambers in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. No elaborate decorations, no guest list of hundreds – just two people madly in love, ready to say “I do” in the simplest, most authentic way possible. Fast forward six years, and they’re now a family of three, still radiating the same infectious joy that first drew me to them and kept me captivated as their chosen lifestyle photographer.

This summer, we decided to create magic at Indian Lake Farm Ruins, where nature has reclaimed what humans once built. The crumbling stone walls tell their own story, but on this particular August morning, they were merely supporting characters in a much more vibrant tale.
The wildflowers were having their moment. At the same time, Queen Anne’s lace dotted the landscape like scattered confetti. Black-eyed Susans nodded in the gentle breeze, and somewhere in the distance, prairie flowers perfumed the air with their sweet fragrance, providing an ideal setting for lifestyle family shoots.
