Pre-Elopement Photos for Elopement Wisconsin at Cider Farms Orchard in Mineral Point Wisconsin
Their pre-elopement photos were a great start to their multi-day Elopement Wisconsin. For John and Danielle, their love story started in the halls of academia. John recalls, “We started off studying together for math classes in undergrad and found talking about everything came very naturally. We started spending more time together and it felt natural.” Danielle shares a more detailed memory, “I distinctly remember first meeting John in the physics department’s student clubroom. He was wearing a Muse shirt (a band I also liked) and listening to music. I stopped him to ask what he was listening to (Pink Moon by Nick Drake) and it was something I hadn’t heard before. His taste in music intrigued me and it’s what we first started talking about beyond schoolwork. I bought a headphone splitter my senior year and always had it on me so we could share music.”
Their shared love for music and easy conversations soon blossomed into a deeper connection. When it came time to plan their elopement, they knew they wanted something that reflected their love for nature and each other. Wisconsin, with its stunning landscapes and romantic settings, was the perfect place.
The Decision to Elope in Wisconsin
Known for its picturesque settings and the charm of changing seasons, Wisconsin was an easy choice for John and Danielle. They cherished the idea of intimate moments amidst natural beauty, far from the hustle and bustle of big city life. Eloping in Wisconsin allowed them to focus on their love and the things they enjoyed most.
The Choice for a First Look and Separate Photo Day
John and Danielle decided to have their first look and photos taken on a different day than their elopement to ensure a calm and relaxed experience. They wanted to savor every moment without feeling rushed, allowing their love to shine through naturally in each photograph. By setting aside a special day just for their photos, they ensured a private, intimate atmosphere—just them and the photographers—capturing the core of their relationship in a serene and unhurried manner. This thoughtful approach allowed them to truly be present with each other, resulting in heartfelt and authentic snapshots of their love.
Planning the Perfect Pre-Elopement Wisconsin Photo Session
Choosing the Outfits
John and Danielle wanted their outfits to complement the natural beauty of the orchard. Danielle opted for a flowy, two-piece dress and killer leather jacket, that moved effortlessly with the wind, while John kept it classic yet relaxed with a crisp white shirt and suit. Together, they radiated a timeless elegance that matched the orchard’s rustic charm.
Coordinating with the Photographer
To make the most of their photo session, they coordinated closely with us. They picked an evening session to capture the soft, golden light of the sunset, which added a magical glow to their photos. They also planned shots in various spots around the orchard, from under sprawling apple trees to beside weathered wooden fences. The weather added a bit of romance with gusts of wind, that allowed them to cuddle close & create movement, that is just pure magic!
The couple did a tour months before and knew all the perfect spots! The owner was there to lend a hand on where to go, along with chatting about the trees and the adorable working dogs!
Tips for Your Own Apple Orchard Pre-Elopement Photo Session
Thinking about planning your own pre-elopement photo session in an apple orchard? Here are some tips to ensure it’s a day to remember:
Choose the Right Time of Year: Danielle and John chose Spring for the blooms, but the weather was causing the blooms to be late. But, it was still BEAUTIFUL! Fall will lend to apples on the trees and bigger foliage.
Coordinate with the Orchard: Reach out to the orchard owner ahead of time to schedule your session and get permission to roam freely. They might even offer tips on the best spots and times!
Find the Perfect Photographer: Look for someone experienced with outdoor shoots who understands the lighting and natural settings.
Plan Your Outfits: Choose clothes that complement the natural surroundings. Earth tones and soft fabrics usually work well.
Relax and Enjoy: The key to great photos is feeling comfortable and at ease. Focus on enjoying the moment with your partner.
A Perfect Ending
John and Danielle’s pre-elopement photo session at the apple orchard was more than just a photoshoot. It was a celebration of their love and the life they were building together.
