AMANDA & GRANT | Iceland Part 2 – Waterfalls & Horses

November 11, 2019

Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss adventure session in Iceland.

This is the last stop on our adventure day in Iceland with Amanda and Grant! Did you see their first part on a black sand beach!? It is bittersweet writing this blog. Probably why I waited a while to write it. Our time with these two amazing humans couldn’t have been better! We drank Icelandic whiskey, photographed them saying their vows on a rad cliff, scouted on a blustery rainy day with them and hiked a rad black sand beach!

Our last stops on their adventure day were two beautiful waterfalls, first, we went to Skogafoss. This waterfall is probably one of the most popular ones. The day we went, there really weren’t many people in front of the waterfall! AWESOME! Again, love how they complement the Icelandic landscape with their clothes!

We walked the couple hundred stairs to the stop, where we found a beautiful river that fed the waterfall. If we had the time and proper gear we would have hiked that trail all or most of the way!

We then headed to Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the waterfall!

Justin and I scouted this a few days before and gave Amanda and Grant the option of the easy or harder way to the back end of the waterfall. They choose the more fun route, the harder way! That is the way we went to when we scouted, and it’s so much fun! You have to climb down a bit of slippery rock first!

Once behind the waterfall, you will get SOAKED. But, it is so worth it! You can feel the power of the waterfall! It’s surreal!

We then headed down the trail to where you hike in a little ravine to a small hidden waterfall. This again is where you get soaked but so worth it!

We then headed back to their airbnb, but not before stopping to pet some horses! Amanda and I were oh so giddy to pet these guys! One ran up so he could get in on the petting action!
