Having a clear vision of how you want your brand photos to look will help you and your photographer determine the style you’re going for.
Do you like light and airy photos? Dark and moody? Posed shots? Candids?
Search Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration or browse your photographer’s past sessions to find examples of the vibe you’re going for. You could even take a peek at our branding portfolio for more inspiration.
Coming to your session with a vision in mind is the best way to ensure your photos perfectly reflect your brand.
Grab your favorite outfit
Clothes are the best way to show the camera who you are. They convey the style and personality behind your business and give you a confidence boost on camera.
We recommend planning two to four outfits for your shoot. This allows you to pair different pieces with different poses and settings for a variety of images.
Of course, bring as many outfits as you want, but make sure they feel like you. If a stuffy two-piece suit isn’t your typical workday staple, opt for your favorite jeans and a nice top – whatever helps you feel like your best self in front of the camera.
It’s a good idea to consider colors too. Choosing colors that match your brand identity quickly creates a coherent, on-brand session.
Go for props!
Adding props to your branding session creates a ton of possibilities for unique images. Plus, it’s another opportunity for you to play with your brand colors.
What objects showcase how your brand operates? Do you have a physical product, business cards, or promotional materials? Do you use a laptop, phone, or tablet? Is there a special trinket you always keep at your desk?
Also, consider any food or drink items that play a role in your brand image or your personality. For example, if you’re a coffee fiend like most of us, bring along your favorite mug or travel thermos! We could even pop a bottle of champagne…
